Foreign investors (like the Chinese) understood the higher growth potentiality and investment quotient of Dubai South, investing. a lump sum amount of 2 Billion US Dollar in the region to build the largest multimodal logistic corridor of around 18 kilometers long.
The multi-modal cargo hub at Al Maktoum International Airport will facilitate and ease air, land and sea connectivity. One can access Air to Sea connectivity within 4 hours in Dubai South, impacting positively the trade and commerce in this region and the overall UAE. A metro line is being constructed and will become fully operational within a few years.
It is confirmed that Etihad Rail will have its route passing along the Dubai South region. Remember, it cannot speed through Dubai South without having a dedicated rail station near the airport for easing the travel here. These will prove to be important links for the near-by Logistics District, triggering the growth of Dubai South region as the global base for International cargo and shipping companies. So, aviation growth here will also expand the port's popularity here.
